Nov. 3, 2014. Calling all artists! The Jones House Community and Cultural Center in downtown Boone will close the current call for artists at the end of November. After the deadline, artists that are chosen to be a part of the 2015 exhibition season will be notified.
For the submissions, all forms of media are welcome, as are artists from all backgrounds.
The Jones House is seeking “art that teaches lessons, encourages growth and embraces imagination.”
The Jones House venue has three galleries: The Mazie Jones Gallery on the first floor and two upstairs galleries. Solo artists are asked to submit at least three images of the work intended for exhibition with the submission application available here. CDs should be labeled with the artists name and contact information along with a list that includes the piece’s medium, title and size. Applications may also be emailed to tori.allen@townofboone.net, with “Artist Application” in the subject line.
Guidelines for the 2015 Jones House exhibitions include:
- Relevance to community needs or issues
- Suitability of physical presentation
- Non-offensive subject matter
- Quality of the presentation
- Space requirements
- Timeliness
Applicants are asked to prepare, frame and display their own pieces. Gallery receptions are typically the first Friday of every month during the First Friday Art Crawl in downtown Boone from 6:30-8 p.m.
Once applications have been received, applicants will receive a confirmation email from the Jones House. Exhibition invitations will be given only after all entries are in.
