This Saturday, following the highly anticipated home football game against the University of Miami, Cafe Portofino will host a musical after party featuring Atlanta based pop/alternative artist Vance Fite as well as local favorites Adam Church, Eryn Down and Nick Vaughin. The fun starts at 3 p.m.
Hailing from Atlanta Georgia, Vance Fite and his infectious pop melodies have earned acclaim with crowd after crowd, and years of touring have sharpened Fite into an engaging entertainer sure to connect with audiences.
Fite released his debut album Hey Girl Hey in 2014 and followed that independent release with a single “Abigail” in early 2016. The album features upbeat sparse pop rhythms filled out by sometimes funky sometimes punky guitar and bass riffs playing against meandering synths, which combine to support emotionally charged vocal melodies that are sure to hook any listener.
Fite has played with many popular acts through his career including Questlove, Ying Yang Twins, Hot Chelle Rae, Yelawolf, Wynonna Judd, The Civil Wars, Augustana and Manchester Orchestra.
“We’re very excited. Our show is very high energy. We keep everyone moving. We always tell people it’s like a mix of Blink 182 and hip hop. The show Saturday is actually the longest we’ve done. We wrote basically a brand new album for the show,” said drummer Brian Collins, a Watauga county native.
“It’s a great feeling to be from here and to be able to bring back artists who are very high caliber and do things like this. We’re honored to be a part of such a big day in Boone, and I’m excited to show my hometown some love.”
The show Saturday will be the kick off for the group’s’ Party Armageddon Tour, which will span from Chicago to New York City. The tour will feature three NC dates, including Murphy’s Pub on Oct. 14.
The event Saturday is gaining traction and generating a buzz around town as Boone prepares for an unprecedented sort of game day. Booneshine Brewery is rumored to be joining in on the collaborative musical party by setting up a tent on the patio.
Win, loss, rain or shine, Cafe Portofino will host an up beat game day afterparty Saturday beginning at 3 p.m., featuring national touring artist Vance Fite and local guests.
