Sept. 12, 2013. Sheriff James Williams announces that the Narcotics Division of the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office has concluded an investigation that resulted in the arrest of Bruce Gilbert Mitchell, also known as Bruce Sharpe.
Bruce Mitchell “Sharpe”, age 57 of Lansing was arrested on 15 counts of trafficking opium. The charges include; 5 counts of level 1 trafficking of 4 grams to 14 grams of opiates, 5 counts of level 2 trafficking of 14 grams to 28 grams of opiates and 5 counts of level 3 trafficking of 28 grams or more.
Mitchell is currently confined in the Ashe County Detention Center and was issued a secured bond of $250,000.
