BRCA To Host Panel With Real Estate Experts on Future of Homes in Blowing Rock Aug. 24

The Blowing Rock Civic Association is pleased to announce an important community meeting, “Blowing Rock Real Estate Experts Discuss the Future for Homes in Blowing Rock,” on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the American Legion Building, located at 333 Wallingford Street in downtown Blowing Rock.

An informal reception with the speakers will start at 5:30 p.m. and the formal program follows at 6 p.m. For many years Blowing Rock because of its great summer climate, magnificent views, beautiful wild forests and natural surroundings, and welcoming people has been a highly prized location for superb full time and seasonal homes. Residents in these homes have sustained a quaint village, unique community features and many High Country charities and organizations. They have also helped the Town of Blowing Rock and Watauga County to have some of North Carolina’s lowest property tax rates. Blowing Rock has been the seasonal home to such legendary state and national leaders as Moses Cone, Julian Price, Charles Cannon, Ed Broyhill, Luther Snyder, Cameron Morrison and a host of others.

Today a number of prominent state and national leaders continue to have seasonal homes in Blowing Rock. In this period of dramatic changes for Blowing Rock including widening of Highway 321, the new Chestnut Ridge healthcare facility and other developments what must be done to continue attracting seasonal and fulltime residents who are vitally important to the future ofthe High Country. A panel of six outstanding Blowing Rock real estate experts will participate in a broad ranging discussion of major issues impacting the residential real estate market in Blowing Rock, past, present and future. The panel will include: Scott Macintosh, Broker in Charge/Owner Blowing Rock Investment Properties, Anne Rasheed, Broker Associate Blowing Rock Investment Properties, Pam Vines, Broker in Charge/Owner Jenkins Realtors, Kathleen Austin, Broker Associate Jenkins Realtors, Maurice Williams, Broker Associate Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, and Richard Puckett, Broker in Charge Premier Sotheby’s International Realty. Serving as Panel Moderator will be Gardelle Lewis, Jr., a nationally recognized real estate broker in Augusta, Georgia, and a longtime seasonal resident of Blowing Rock.
