Upcoming Programs:
Feb. 25, 2013. Mediation presented by Robb R. Olsen, Mediator/Attorney and Counselor of Law, Appalachian Law Center

March 25, 2013. Advocacy

Bad Weather Policy: NASW will plan to present unless the library is closed for the day. It often opens at 11:00 am, even if the schools are closed. In that case, NASW will present. To find out if the library is open go the the library’s web site, www.wataugacountylibrary.com, or to www.booneweather.com (Ray’s) or http://goblueridge.net. The library staff attempts to put closings/and late openings on their phone’s answer system. However, they said that this doesn’t always work.

Volunteers Needed
Judith would very much appreciate having some volunteer assistance. If she should be come ill at the last minute who would be able to step in and run the meeting? This means setting up around noon, introducing the speaker and cleaning up, finishing around 2:00. It would be wonderful to have several names and phone numbers for emergency use only. If there is an emergency, and there are no volunteers, then she will cancel the meeting and have a notice posted on the door.

Judith would like to teach someone else what is involved in arranging and running the meetings. She hopes someone will consider being the chair person next year, starting in October. This is a great group, let’s not let it fade away. The biggest time commitment is the day of the meeting.
