Boone United Methodist Church to Ring in Autumn with Fall Bazaar on Sept. 18-19

The unofficial kick-off of autumn in the High Country is right around the corner – the Fall Bazaar at Boone United Methodist Church. The event has become so popular over the past 30 years that now thousands attend in search of hidden treasures and bargains, good food and fellowship.-1

Located at 471 New Market Blvd. directly behind the New Market Shopping Center, the church will host its annual bazaar from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 and from 7:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Features include furniture, computers and electronics, sports equipment, clothing of all kinds, handmade crafts, Christmas items, jams and jellies, baked goods, new and previewed books and videos, yard sale items, as well as “down home” country cooking. Saturday brings the famous “BAG” and ½ price sale that begins at 7:30 a.m.

An Old Fashion Country Breakfast will be served on Friday morning and muffins will available on Saturday morning. This year, the Friday Lunch will be a benefit for the Grace Academy.

A silent auction featuring antiques, a large amount of unique furniture and many new items from local businesses will accept bids on Friday, Sept. 18 until 6 p.m.

One of the church’s largest events of the year, the bazaar involves more than 500 volunteers of all ages who contribute more than 6,000 hours. The event will benefit the church building fund and many local missions.

The Bazaar has evolved into one of the most fun and effective ways of recycling used furniture and other items. This is a major “green” event in the High Country.
