Boone Town Council Appoints New Town Attorney

Dec. 23, 2014. The Boone Town Council picked a replacement for outgoing Town Attorney Sam Furgiuele at its monthly meeting on Thursday: Allison Meade of Meade Law in Boone.

Town Clerk Christine Pope confirmed the appointment, which is effective Jan. 1. Furgiuele recently submitted his resignation letter after working for the town in this capacity for 13 years.

According to Meade’s professional profile on her firm’s website, she graduated from Yale Law School in 1997, clerked for a federal judge and practiced law in Philadelphia before returning to North Carolina in 2003. She grew up in Chapel Hill.

In addition to being a licensed real estate broker and a licensed general contractor, she’s also has served on the N.C. Bar Association, Watauga County Bar Association and Board of Directors of The Children’s Council in Watauga.
