Feb. 25, 2014. The Boone Sunrise Rotary wishes to thank the High Country community for its support of our recent annual citrus sales. We had a record year thanks to you! The nearly $10,000 we raised will go to support local, regional and international organizations and needs.
Some examples of what our fundraiser “Great Fruit for a Great Cause” benefits:
Annual scholarships for Watauga High School Seniors to attend a college of their choice;
Along with other service clubs, provides dictionaries to all Watauga County seventh grade students;
Rotary Foundation which supports worthy international projects including special funding to eliminate polio throughout the world;
Shelter Boxes (a three room domed-tent with supplies for an entire family) sent to national and international areas devastated by natural disasters;
Rotary TAP (Tanzanian Aqua Project) which provides safe water collection systems for Tanzanians.
Plus, every year we receive requests from a variety of local charities that we respond to.
We are very fortunate to serve a community where so much is done to help our children and families. We look forward to a great year and our continued work together.
