On Wednesday just before 9 p.m., Boone Police and Fire units responded with Watauga Medics to 1469 W. King Street in reference to a male suffering a medical emergency. First arriving units initiated emergency medical care.
The victim was transported to Watauga Medical Center where he died. Boone Police Department Investigators responded to the scene and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of the death. The decedent, Noah Tuck Overbey, 20, was transferred to the custody of the medical examiner for an autopsy and toxicological testing.
Boone Police Department spokesman said that Overbey was from Greensboro. He did not attend App State.
The cause of death remains undetermined pending results of the autopsy and testing. There are no indications that the death is suspicious.
