Boone Police Department Closes Death Case

On Sept. 23, 2015, the Boone Police Department began an investigation into the death of a 20-year-old male named, Noah Tucker Overbey.

This investigation began when Boone Police were called to respond to investigate the report of a medical emergency at 1469 W. King Street. During an investigation, all evidence gathered indicated that Mr.Overbey’s death was likely caused by an accidental drug overdose. The case was turned over to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Medicolegal Autopsy Report was released on June 17, 2016. This report confirmed Boone Police Investigators’ suspicions. Mr. Overbey’s cause of death was listed as, “mixed drug (heroin, cocaine) toxicity.”
