Boone Police Arrest Marijuana & Pill Dealer, Assisted in Investigation by U.S. Postal Service

On Feb. 16, 2017, the Boone Police Department concluded an investigation into a local source of marijuana and prescription pill medication. This investigation ended with the arrest of an individual named Alain Nordin Kessler of Howard Street in Boone.

Narcotics Detectives began an investigation when they received information approximately two months ago that Kessler was involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics within Boone. The Boone Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the United States Postal Service.

On February 16, 2017, Detectives were granted a search warrant for Kessler’s apartment. During this search, approximately (9) ounces of marijuana, an amount of US Currency and over 265 pills of Xanax (Alprazolam) were seized from Kessler’s home.

  • Kessler was arrested and charged with the following crimes:
  • 1 Count – Felony Possession with Intent to Sell & Deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Marijuana.
  • 1 Count – Felony Possession with Intent to Sell & Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Xanax.

“Our Narcotics Division works daily to keep illegal drugs out of Boone. These folks often work long hours to identify, find and arrest the individuals and groups that seek to push illegal narcotics in our community,” said Boone Police Chief Dana Crawford.

 

Kessler is being held at the Watauga County Detention Center under a $10,000 Secured Bond.
