Boone PD Appoints Three New Officers to Force

DSCN3040WEBFeb. 14, 2013. The Boone Police Department recently appointed three new officers to the force. 

Brian Christopher Woods, 30, a Caldwell County native, was a police officer in New Hanover County. Woods also serves in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. Woods joined the police department on Oct. 15, 2012.  Woods resides in Ashe County with his wife Rebecca and son Josiah.  

On Jan. 7, James Allen Lyall, 28, and Dasnine Ranon “Petey” Hausley, 22, also joined the Boone Police Department. 

Lyall is a native of Ashe County. Prior to joining the police department, Lyall worked in the fiber optics industry and served as a police officer in Ashe County. Lyall resides in Ashe County with his wife Canzoda and daughter Abigail. 

Hausley is a native of McDowell County. Hausley graduated from Appalachian State University in the spring of 2012 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He currently resides in Watauga County.

“I am very pleased to have these three men join the ranks of the Boone Police Department,” said Chief of Police Dana Crawford. “Each has shown a strong desire to serve the Boone community as a police officer.”
