Boone Office Among DMVs To Bring in New Driver License Examiners in Charlotte, WNC

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is bringing 12 new driver license examiner graduates to eight driver license offices in the Charlotte area and western part of the state this month.

The examiners are graduating following seven weeks of intensive study in the Basic Examiner Training School administered by NCDMV, including practical home-office experience. They will take applications for learner permits, driver licenses and identification cards using modernized systems that create counterfeit-proof documents that protect against identity theft. They will also conduct road tests for new drivers and others.

“These new examiners will enhance Governor Pat McCrory’s efforts to ‘Drive Change’ in our DMV offices,” said NCDOT Secretary Nick Tennyson. “We are happy to bring them on board because they will help us better serve our customers and decrease our wait times.”

The new examiners and their duty stations are: Barbara A. Barber, Clara Bolton, John G. Bowers, Brenda L. Jackson and Olivia K. Leverette, Huntersville; Brittany M. Plumber, East Charlotte; Quennetta D. Kirby, South Charlotte; Isaac L. Salinas, Monroe; Shelly N. Withrow, Boone; Edward M. Clifford, Mooresville; Troy A. Morrison, Hickory; and Debra A. Smith, Lincolnton.
