Boone Invites Community To Oct. 20 Session To Learn About Downtown Development

The Downtown Boone Development Association would like to invite the Boone Community to a Listening Session regarding the development of Downtown Boone.

The Town of Boone has tasked the UNC School of Government Development Finance Initiative to come up with a development plan and to attract investment in Downtown Boone.

The UNC School of Government will discuss their scope of work and introduce their process to Town Council on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Council Chambers, and we encourage you to attend this meeting. The council meets at the Boone Police Department at 1500 Blowing Rock Road.

Then, on the morning of Oct. 20 at 10 a.m., the Boone community is invited to the HOW Space to share their thoughts and ideas on the future of Downtown Boone with the Development Finance Initiative and Town of Boone staff. You can register for the event here

Prior to the community forum at 10 a.m., another listening session will be held for business owners and property owners in downtown Boone. The Downtown Stakeholders Listening Session will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the HOW Space on Friday, Oct. 20. Click here to register for the stakeholders session.

If business/property owners are unable to attend the meeting, they can forward any issues/questions/concerns to Downtown Development Coordinator Brittney Clark and she will pass that along to the UNC School of Government Development Finance Initiative staff.
