Boone Healing Arts Center to Host The Sensation of Moving-Modern Dance For Adults Five-Week Workshop

Sept. 16, 2013. The Boone Healing Arts Center (BHAC), a cooperative of holistic health practitioners, will host The Sensation of Moving – Modern Dance for Adults, a five-week dance workshop, taught by teacher and performer Alex Smith on Wednesdays from Sept. 18-Oct. 16. 

In this series of mixed-level Modern Dance classes, participants will explore full-body movements, technical specificity and strength building as they experience the sensation of moving through space and time. Some movement experience may be helpful but not necessary.

The five-class workshop will take place at the Boone Healing Arts Center on Wednesdays starting Sept. 18 through Oct. 16 from 6-7:15 p.m. The cost is $10 per class, or $40 for the entire series, which amounts to $8 per class. 

Alex Smith is an experienced mover, performer and teacher. He holds an MFA and a BFA in Dance. He is adjunct faculty in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Appalachian State University. Mostly he loves to love in concert with other people.
