Boone Green Drinks to Host Area Businesses that Have Obtained Green Certifications June 18

June 11, 2013. The June 18th meeting of Boone Green Drinks  will focus on local businesses and organizations who have obtained a Green Certification during the past few years. The Watauga Green Business Plan will be discussed and those certified will be asked to discuss their Green efforts and experiences. Join us for an interesting evening of socializing and discussion of how we are Going Green in the High Country. 

Green Drinks BooneLearn about opportunities to take your business or organization to the next Green level. The Tuesday evening event will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Appalachian Mountain Brewery (AMB) located at 163 Boone Creek Drive just down the street from the Employment Services Commission / Watauga County Career Center on Winkler’s Creek Road.
 
The AMB is one of our area’s newest Green businesses and we will also have the opportunity to learn more about their efforts in energy efficiency and renewables, community stewardship, wetlands restoration, and sustainable agriculture.  This is your chance to become involved in Boone Green Drinks, an organization that celebrates its 5th year of social networking in the High Country. We have a great schedule on tap for the summer and will be meeting the third Tuesday of the month from 6 to 8 at the Appalachian Mountain Brewery for the foreseeable future.  Quench your thirst for a Sustainable Boone one sip at a time.
 
Boone Green Drinks is an informal social networking organization that hosts monthly events for anyone interested in “green” activities in the High Country. It’s a great way to catch up with local people involved in “green” services and make new “green” contacts. Boone Green Drinks Boone is among 15 other North Carolina communities and 725 cities worldwide that host monthly gatherings of sustainably-minded people who meet to informally discuss green business, green services and green activities.
 
Boone Green Drinks gatherings are free and open to the public.  Participants cover their own cost of beverages and food. Green Drinks offers a great way of catching up with people you know and making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along so the crowd is always different, making Green Drinks a fluid, self- organizing network. These events are simple and unstructured with a lot of positive benefits.
 
Boone Green Drinks meets on the third Tuesday of the month and they invite interested people to join them on FACEBOOK at Green Drinks Boone to receive future updates. Join the group on Tuesday, June 18th at Appalachian Mountain Brewery to learn more about the Green Certification Programs and your opportunity to go green and be recognized for your efforts. There will door prizes and time set aside for announcements about other green activities and events in the High Country.
