July 1, 2014. The Boone Town Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday to discuss the impacts of and “direct staff in response” to the recent ETJ legislation that passed its way through the N.C. General Assembly last week.
After discussing the ETJ legislation that was sponsored by Sen. Dan Soucek, the Boone Town Council will enter into closed session to discuss three agenda items. See the notice below. Mayor Andy Ball mentioned that the council will discuss the hiring of its town manager among the discussions in closed session. Ball added that the council is just now getting to the interview process of select candidates and that the council wouldn’t announce its new manager until August or September. The meeting starts at 4 p.m. and is held in the Administrative Conference Room at Town Hall, which is located at 567 West King St. The meeting was announced on Monday.
