Holiday cheer filled the air in downtown Boone on Saturday morning for the town’s annual Christmas parade, which brought together folks of all ages for a festive day of friendship, fun and community. Cool winter temperatures gave the crowd a great reason to bundle up and sport their favorite Christmas-ready hats and scarves as the parade moved along King Street.
Local churches shared depictions of Bible stories reminding us all of the reason for the season. Cheerleaders, dancers and high school marching bands shared the streets with student groups, local businesses, politicians, various organizations, Yosef, local pets up for adoption and — yep, you guessed it — even Old Saint Nick.
