June 3, 2013. Last weekend marked the 2013 Spring Boone Bike Rally, and with well over 2,000 people in attendance it proved to be the largest Boone Bike Rally yet.
The rally, which was held in the High Country Fairgrounds from May 31 through June 2, featured live music, biker games, vendors, food and of course, bikes!
“Overall, everything went great,” said Kenny Johnson, who coordinated the event.
“We had great weather all weekend, and that helps bring lots of people in from all over.”
The colorful event brings in bikers and vendors from far and wide. This year, around 30 vendors catered to the bikers in attendance.
But the Boone Bike Rally isn’t all fun and games. Each year, the Boone Bike Rally holds a 50/50 raffle, where half of the sales from each ticket go toward the pot and half go toward local charities and non-profit organizations. At the end, the winner gets half of the money collected, while the other half gets donated.
To date, the Boone Bike Rallies have raised over 2,500 for local charities and non-profits like the Christian Motorcycle Association and more.
The next Boone Bike Rally will be held on Labor Day Weekend at the High Country Fairgrounds. At the next rally, Johnson hopes that even more people will come out and join the rally.
“If the weather cooperates, we are expecting the fall rally to be even bigger,” Johnson said.
At the next rally, participants can expect to be greeted with the same fun, action packed weekend filled with bikes, games, vendors and music.
