While long stretches of the Blue Ridge Parkway are still closed after flooding from nearly two weeks of rain, the portion of the parkway in the Boone and Blowing Rock area remains open.
The Blue Ridge Parkway experienced downed trees, rockslides and more during the past few days that features high winds along with heavy rains.
In the High Country region – from Linville to Jefferson, most of the Blue Ridge Parkway is open except for mileposts 305.1 to 307.9.
Heading south towards Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway closes at milepost 317.5 towards Asheville before opening up before entering Asheville. There are, though, a couple short stretches and picnic areas between Black Mountain and Linville Falls that are open.
See interactive road closure map of the Blue Ridge Parkway on the National Park Service website for the most up-to-date coverage of road closures.
