The National Park Service (NPS) has issued a prospectus for a 10-year concessions business opportunity for craft sales inside Flat Top Manor (Manor House), the historic home located on the Moses H. Cone Memorial Park along Blue Ridge Parkway.

The prospectus is available on the NPS Commercial Services website. All offers must be received by the NPS at the address listed on the inside front cover of the prospectus no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017, in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract.  The prospectus describes the business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract.

Questions related to the prospectus must be submitted in writing, via email to Laura S. Nelson, Concession Management Specialist at [email protected], no later than Thursday, August 17, 2017.  The NPS will lead a site visit on Thursday, August 10, 2017.  For more information regarding the specific time and to reserve a place, please also contact Laura Nelson. The site visit will be an opportunity for all interested parties to get an overview of the concession operation along with a tour of Concession Facilities associated with the Draft Contract.

If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your prospectus from the website, advise Mark Morgan, Commercial Services Analyst, Southeast Region, NPS, AFC, 1924 Building, 100 Alabama Street, S.W., Atlanta, GA  30303 at (404) 507-5638 or e-mail at [email protected] of your interest so your contact information can be placed on a mailing list to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the prospectus.  Those receiving a hard copy or who are on the mailing list will be provided with any additional information specific to the prospectus in writing.  The same information is posted to the above mentioned website.  To request a hard copy of the prospectus to be delivered via Federal Express, send a check for $40.00 payable to the National Park Service via Mark Morgan.  Please include a physical address (no post office box) and telephone number.

The Moses H. Cone Memorial Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district with the Manor House considered a significant component of the historic district. The historic estate lies between Parkway Mileposts 292 and 295, just north of the town of Blowing Rock, NC.

This business opportunity, historically known as the Parkway Craft Center, is located on a portion of the first floor of the Manor House, which has served as a regional handicraft retail center for over sixty years.  Currently, the Manor’s tenants include the NPS, a bookstore operated by Eastern National, and the Parkway Craft Center, a concession operated by the Southern Highland Craft Guild.  The NPS offers scheduled narrative tours of the Manor as well as self-guided tours during normal business hours.
