Blue Ridge Mountain Club, Blowing Rock Chamber Host ‘Beach Blast on the Blue Ridge’ Friday, Sept. 14

Sept. 12, 2012. Blue Ridge Mountain Club (BRMC) and the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce have partnered to bring a new and exciting cultural event to the High Country: Beach Blast on the Blue Ridge (part of the Chamber’s Music Moves Mountains series). This inaugural event, which takes place on Sept. 14 at BRMC, will be the newest festival in the Chamber’s grand tradition of musical events and promises to be an evening to remember.

“North Carolina beach music fans from all over the state and beyond are expected for this first-ever beach music concert in the majestic mountains near Blowing Rock,” said Blue Ridge Mountain Club General Manager Jim Pitts. “The concert grounds venue within our National Park-grade property will afford magnificent views and offer a pleasant late-summer environment that can only be experienced in the mountains.”

The gates to Blue Ridge Mountain Club will open at 4:00pm on September 14. The Embers will kick off the festival at 6 p.m., followed by Chairmen of the Board at 8 p.m. Tickets to the North Carolina Beach Music Festival will cost $28 per person, and can be purchased from the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce by phone or online at www.blowingrock.com/music. A limited number of patron tents (which must be rented from the Chamber of Commerce) also will be available with prices starting at $500, which includes a 10’ x 10’ tent, 10 tickets, and an 8’ banquet table with 10 chairs.

Food and beverage vendors will be onsite selling barbecue, tacos, pizza, North Carolina beer and wine. Concert goers may also bring their own food and beverages. In addition to on-property parking, concert goers can opt to take trolleys from town or from various parking areas within BRMC.

“The Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce is extremely excited about bringing iconic North Carolina beach music to the mountains for the first time,” said Billie Rogers, Events Director for the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. “Our partnership with Blue Ridge Mountain Club is making it possible to host the sheer number of people we expect to take advantage of this extremely popular cultural event.”
