Blue Ridge Conservancy Hosts 17th Annual Wine and Beer Tasting, Auction June 7

Blue Ridge Conservancy (BRC) will host its 17th annual Wine/Beer Tasting & Auction on Wednesday, June 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at a new location, the Blowing Rock American Legion.

The Wine/Beer Tasting & Auction celebrates local businesses and the community.  In keeping with a nearly 17-year tradition, owners Ken and Wendy Gordon of The Gamekeeper will once again prepare creative and original Southern food.  Professional event planning and services are sponsored by Events by Elizabeth Ashley, Miss Match Rentals, and High South Creative Photography.

Peabody’s Wine & Beer Merchants will be pouring samples of their excellent inventory of fine wines. Local breweries include Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Blowing Rock Brewing, Boondocks Brewing, Booneshine Brewing Co., and Lost Province Brewing Co.

“We invite everyone in the community to come out and enjoy an evening of  great food and drink provided by local businesses to help support Blue Ridge Conservancy’s mission to protect our North Carolina resources,” said Nikki Robinson, BRC’s Communications and Outreach Associate.

A silent and live auction and will feature local prizes donated from our community sponsors. Jesse Miller, with First Security Insurance, will lead the live auction. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on local art, pottery, vacation packages, and many other items.

Music will be provided by the Worthless Son In Laws. All proceeds from the event will benefit BRC and its mission to permanently protect land and water resources with agricultural, ecological, cultural, recreational and scenic value in northwest North Carolina.

Individual tickets are $30 each or $50 for two.
