Blowing Rock’s Ensemble Stage Gearing Up for ‘Christmas in Blowing Rock’ this Weekend, Dec. 14 to 16

Dec. 10, 2012. Blowing Rock’s Ensemble Stage is gearing up for another edition of their holiday performance this coming weekend, Dec. 14 to 16, and plan to keep with the 1960’s TV Christmas musical variety show format that attendees enjoyed and asked for the last three years. However, this year, they’ve amped things up.

The show features over 20 songs being sung by the host, an eight person adult chorus and a 10 person Blowing Rock Kids Choir. Ensemble also has Blowing Rock Town Councilman, Jim Steele, reading the story of “The Little Match Girl” while the incredibly talented 11-year-old Savannah Troyer interprets the story through dance.

This year, thanks to the sponsorship of the financial advisory firm of Linden Thomas, things are going to be glitzed up with a beautiful snow covered stone bridge at twilight as the backdrop and it may even snow on stage during the show. So combine all that with guys in fancy tuxedos, ladies in beautiful ball gowns, silly skits and lots of singing and dancing, and you’re sure to love this year’s edition of “Christmas in Blowing Rock.”

Performances of “Christmas in Blowing Rock” are;

  • Friday December 14 at 7:00pm
  • Saturday December 15 at 7:00pm
  • Sunday December 16 at 2:00 p.m.

Shows are at the Blowing Rock School Auditorium, 160 Sunset Drive in Blowing Rock

Tickets are $12 for adult/seniors and $8 for students.
