On Monday, Oct. 31, the Blowing Rock Town Council will hold a special closed-session meeting to discuss the recruitment process of the town manager position, according to a meeting notice that states no other business will be conducted.

Because of early voting happening at the Town Hall, the meeting will take place at the Blowing Rock Police Department at 143 Park Avenue.

In September, current Blowing Rock Town Manager Scott Fogleman announced that he would be stepping down in January “to spend more time with his family and join his spouse to help plan for the future of her business,” according to a release from the town.

Fogleman was hired three years ago this past September. Fogleman was formerly budget director for the Town of Cary.

The deadline for applications for the town manager position closed earlier this month after being open for one month. Staff anticipates the new town manager would be “on board” by next February.
