Blowing Rock Police Department’s Weekly Brief Sheet; Recent Arrests and Employee Spotlight: Anthony Biard

April 2, 2013. Courtesy of  the Blowing Rock Police Department, here is the weekly “Brief Sheet,” compiled by Capt. Aaron Miller on Tuesday, April 2.

Bad weather during most of last week kept traffic light and things quiet in Blowing Rock. Cold weather and snow covered roads resulted in a few calls to assist motorist but no major traffic collisions were reported. One vehicle was reported damaged while being removed from an icy hill but damage was minimal and no injuries were reported.

One arrest was made last week. Ryan Matthew Pearce, 19, of Hickory was arrested in Blowing Rock on March 26. Pearce was charged with communicating threats and second degree trespass. The charges were the result of an incident which occurred between family members on Morningside Drive.  Pearce was held at the Watauga County Jail on a $500 secured bond. Officer Bobby Canter was the arresting officer.

Four citations were issued last week. Charges included no insurance, consuming alcohol in a vehicle, no seat belt and no operator’s license.

For the next few weeks I want help our residents get to know the police officers who work in our Town. It helps to put faces with names that you read about.

This week our employee spotlight is on Anthony Biard. Anthony is 27 years old and grew up in Raleigh NC.
