KBI TrailerThe recent cold weather and high winds have kept Blowing Rock Police Officers busy with commercial and residential burglar alarms. Officers have responded to over 30 alarm calls for service over the past few days. No other significant problems have been reported as a result of the weather.

Blowing Rock Police Department is seeking information in reference to a stolen trailer. An enclosed trailer, owned by KBI Construction was taken from a home on Chestnut Circle.  The trailer is a white, single axle enclosed trailer with KBI Kramer Build lettered on the side. The trailer is believed to have been taken between Dec. 23 and Dec. 27. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Police Department at (828) 295-5212

Several trailers have been taken throughout Watauga County of the past few months. If you own tag-a-long trailers you should take precautions to avoid theft. Several types of trailer coupler locks are available commercially or a chain through the wheel and around the axle and locked with a pad lock will serve the purpose. These trailer locks will likely deter thieves looking for an easy target.

Eight citations have been issued since January 1st. The charges cited include no operator’s license, speeding and expired registration.
