The Blowing Rock Parks and Rec Thanks Community for Participating in the First Annual Sweetheart Soiree Senior Valentine’s Dance

The Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation Department would like to extend its thanks to the community and everyone who came out to attend and participate in the first annual Sweetheart Soiree Senior Valentine’s Dance that happened this past Saturday. The event was a huge success with an enjoyable afternoon full of dancing, fellowship and celebration.

Without the generous donations and gracious service from the community, this event couldn’t have happened. The Watauga Community Band volunteered to provide the means of playing music while the Watauga High School Student Council offered their time to help with decorations and serving the guests. Along with this, the Blowing Rock School made beautiful valentines for each guest, and Girl Scout Troop #4 from Blowing Rock handed out flowers, performed “the twist” dance and made valentines.

The following are a list of more of the wonderful sponsors that were involved in making this event a success:

Appalachia Cookie Company

Bouquet Florist

Chick-fil- A of Boone

Food Lion of Blowing Rock

Jimmy John's of Boone

The Parks and Rec Department is overjoyed with the amount of support and community involvement it received for this event. It looks forward to hosting this event again next year!
