Monday Night Concert Series
Monday Night Concert Series
If you are looking for something to do in the High Country on a Monday night, the Town of Blowing Rock offers the Monday Night Concert Series (MNCS).  This is the third concert in the 2016 summer series and will feature a cabaret blend of musical theatre, jazz, country and contemporary favorites.  The concert begins at 7 p.m., and concertgoers should bring a lawn chair or blanket to fully enjoy this free evening of music. Concerts take place at the Broyhill Park, at the gazebo on the pond.  The alternate weather location is the newly renovated American Legion building on Park Avenue, which overlooks Broyhill Park.

Performing on Monday evening’s concert will be show originator Amy Marie Young, Anna Uzzell Harreveld, and Steve Sensenig.  Krista Wells Atwood will also be a featured performer.  Atwood has been a regular performer on the MNCS since its inception, is an ASU alumni, and will be performing a variety of popular songs from opera to country.  Harreveld, also an ASU alumni, is currently singing with Opera Carolina and the Little Opera Company of Charlotte after having a singing career in both Seattle and New York City.
Steve Sensenig, the pianist for the July 25 concert, has been a music director at the Barter Theatre in Abington, Virginia, and recently wrote arrangements and performed with Chloe Agnew of the Celtic Women.  He was a featured soloist with the Symphony of the Mountains this summer.
