Blowing Rock Art and History Museum Hosts Artist Receptions and More for Month of July

July 10, 2013. The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum is well known for its galleries, exhibits, guest speakers and artist receptions that invite the community to come out to the Museum for some cultured fun. This month, the BRAHM has a myriad of events planned for the community to attend to showcase artists, intrigue children and bring out the creativity in the community.

DownloadedFile-2On July 12, the BRAHM will host Gregory Smith as he presents “Fakes and Facsimiles.” Smith is the featured artist in the Community Gallery from the Art Cellar Gallery in the BRAHM. The presentation starts at 10 a.m. and includes the artist’s presentation, coffee and pie. 

The Doodlebug Club at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum will host an art class for preschool children on July 13 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The price for the art class is $5 per child. For more information please call 828-295-9099 extension 3004.

On July 14, the Sunday Music Series at the BRAHM will feature a Concert by Fire Pink Trio. This concert will feature a viola, harp and flute and will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum’s Atrium. Tickets are $20 per person and refreshments will be served. 

Third Thursday this month is on July 18, where Professor Elliot Engel will present “Winston Churchill, an inspiring public and private figure and a touchingly human hero.” British style refreshments will be served. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum’s Community Meeting Room. Cost for the event is $20 per person. 

On July 19, the BRAHM will host Coffee Talk at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum. The speaker for this coffee talk will be Yesi Casado from Estee Lauder to talk about the art of makeup. This event is free to the public and is sponsored by the Membership Committee. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and refreshments will be served.
