March 3, 2014. A lottery game starting Tuesday gives players the chance to multiply their winnings by up to 100 times making it the biggest scratch-off of the year. The game, called $4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular, begins with ten prizes of $1 million and four prizes of $4 million.
On each $20 ticket, there are eight winning numbers. Matching a winning number with one or more of the 20 player’s numbers wins the corresponding prize. Besides the chance to multiply prizes by 100 times, players also have the chance to multiply their prizes by between 2 and 50 times. The game features $100 automatic prizes that can be won as well as the chance to win all 20 prizes on the ticket.
The game begins with more than $151 million in total prizes and 1 in 2.96 overall odds of winning. The chances of winning one of the ten $1 million prizes are 1 in 1 million and the odds of winning $4 million are 1 in 2.5 million.
Three other tickets are heading to stores on March 4, including one that features the famous face of the 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. The $5 game, called $200,000 Grant, starts with $16.5 million in total prizes and five top prizes of $200,000. A player who scratches to reveal a stack of money symbol wins $50 – the bill on which President Grant appears. Overall odds of winning are 1 in 4.07 and the odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 960,000.
A $3 extended play game called Red Line Crossword Tripler features four top prizes of $50,000. Players who are able to use their 18 letters to spell ten of the words in the puzzle area win $50,000. Spelling a word that has a red line through it wins three times the corresponding prize. The game has 1 in 4.16 overall odds of winning and 1 in 780,000 odds of winning the top prize.
Rapid Refund is a $1 ticket that starts with 12 top prizes of $5,000. After scratching the ticket, if the winning number matches one or more of the players numbers, up to five prizes are won. The game starts with more than 1.3 million winning tickets, 1 in 4.91 overall odds of winning, and 1 in 540,000 odds of winning the top prize.
New scratch-off games begin on the First Tuesday of every month. Ticket sales for instant games have helped the lottery to raise more than $3.19 billion for education programs statewide.
