Patriotic colors and happy faces were out in full force at the town of Banner Elk’s annual Fourth of July parade on Monday.
The parade began at 11 a.m. and traveled down Main Street from Lees-McRae College to Tate-Evans Park. This year, Vietnam-era military veterans of Avery County served as grand marshals.
Local photographer Cindy McEnery was on hand to capture the fun for us.
“What a wonderful event,” said McEnery. “Smiling children, prancing alpacas, decorated dogs and antique cars combined to remind us how wonderful small town America is on the Fourth. Hats off to the organizers and participants.”
