May 14, 2014. On May 7, Narcotics Detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant subsequent to an investigation involving the sell and delivery of large amounts of Marijuana.
The investigation, which culminated in a search warrant, was a joint operation between the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and the NC Probation Office. During the course of the search warrant, Detectives and Probation Officers located and seized over 6lbs of Marijuana.
The Marijuana had an estimated street value of $38,400 ($400 per ounce). Also seized from the residence was 1oz of Psilocybin Mushrooms, US Currency, and drug paraphernalia.
Jonathan David Johnson, 29, and Ethan Layne Boswell, 25, both of 281 Fox Hill Road, Vilas, NC, 28692, were charged with Conspiracy to Possess Marijuana, PWISD Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling CS, PWISD Schedule I Psilocybin Mushrooms, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Johnson and Boswell taken to the Watauga County Detention Facility in lieu of a $15,000 secured bond. They are scheduled to appear in District Court on July 25, 2014.
