Do you live for the ’80s? Are you ready to revive the big hair, bright neons and shoulder pads? If you answered yes, then we want to see you at Totally ‘80s Retro Ski Weekend at Beech Mountain!
The four day weekend will be absolutely packed with everything you love about the 1980s, along with countless ways to enjoy your time on the slopes at the ski resort Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 18-21.
“Retro Weekend gives people a reason to dress up. Who doesn’t want a reason to wear a costume?” said Beech Mountain’s Marketing Director Talia Freeman. “It gives some people a nostalgic feeling of the past — the clothes, the hair, the music, the parties and the simplicity of life.”
Dave Aiken of Greensboro’s Rock 92 will emcee the weekend’s events as you travel back in time for some seriously cool fun.
Try your hand at ’80s-inspired gaming in the Pac Man Contest, the Rubik’s Cube Contest or the Hot Tub Time Machine Trivia Contest.
Hang out with the Carolina Ghostbusters and the Ecto-mobile and get an autograph from actor John Voldstad, who played “my other brother Darryl” on the Newhart sitcom.
Rock out with live music from high-energy tribute bands like Cassette Rewind, SPANK and ’80s Explosion.
Sport your boldest fashion favorites from the best decade ever and enter the Totally Retro Apparel Contest, where $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, or the Madonna Look-Alike Contest.
The weather’s supposed to be great for a weekend on the slopes, and fun for the whole family awaits at Beech Mountain Resort for this retro-inspired four-day event.

Friday, Feb. 19:
All day: Retro skiing — wear your best ’80s gear!
All day: Totally Tubular ’80s snow tubing
5-9 p.m.: $100 Pac Man Contest continues at Beech Alpen
6-8 p.m.: Youth cosmic sledding on sledding hill (free)
7-8:30 p.m.: Carolina Ghostbusters at Fast Eddie’s
9 p.m.: SPANK band at Mile High Tavern ($5 cover)
10:30 p.m.: $200 Madonna Look-Alike Contest at Mile High Tavern
Saturday, Feb. 20:
