April is Beer Month across North Carolina, where more than 145 craft breweries dot the landscape from Manteo to Murphy. But if you’re lucky enough to live in or near Blowing Rock, there’s no need to traverse the state to indulge in beer-related events: They’re all going on right here.

Throughout April, local restaurants will feature North Carolina beers in tasty ways, from guest breweries to pairing events, and the Town’s own Blowing Rock Brewing Company has a contest called Inspire & Name Our Next Beer that can be entered online at, or in person. The winning entry will be rewarded with the opportunity to experience and assist in the brewing process with the Ale House’s Lead Brewers and a one-night stay at the Ale House and Inn.
