April is Beer Month across North Carolina, where more than 145 craft breweries dot the landscape from Manteo to Murphy. But if you’re lucky enough to live in or near Blowing Rock, there’s no need to traverse the state to indulge in beer-related events: They’re all going on right here.

Throughout April, local restaurants will feature North Carolina beers in tasty ways, from guest breweries to pairing events, and the Town’s own Blowing Rock Brewing Company has a contest called Inspire & Name Our Next Beer that can be entered online at blowingrockbrewing.com/inspire-and-name-our-next-beer, or in person. The winning entry will be rewarded with the opportunity to experience and assist in the brewing process with the Ale House’s Lead Brewers and a one-night stay at the Ale House and Inn.

Local establishments peppering their normal fare and activities with beer-related specials include Six Pence Pub, Foggy Rock, Canyons, New Public House, Town Tavern, Mellow Mushroom, The Table at Crestwood, Timberlake’s at Chetola, Rustique and The Ale House. And don’t forget SAVOR Blowing Rock (Thursday, April 14 – Sunday, April 17), which includes North Carolina beer samples at the Taste! event on Thursday and the Grand Tasting on Saturday, as well as special beer-related events at local businesses. For more on SAVOR, go to savorblowingrock.com.

The fourth annual N.C. Beer Month is co-sponsored by Visit North Carolina and the N.C. Craft Brewers Guild. For statewide information, go to ncbeermonth.com.
