Beech Mountain Kicks Off Its 50th Anniversary Season With A Party at Their Brewery Friday Night

Beech Mountain Ski Resort kicked off its 50th Anniversary Season with live music and the grand re-opening of their Beech Mountain Brewing Company facilities on Friday night, Dec. 1st. The musical group If Birds Could Fly had the brewery grooving as attendees enjoyed craft beers and fun times. It was 50 years ago on December 1st that Beech Mountain Resort first opened for skiing.

Over the summer the brewery installed a new 7 Barrel Direct Fire Beverage System. Head Brewer Sean said about the new system, “We just installed installed a brand new 7bbl (Barrel) Brewhouse with four 7bbl temperature controlled fermentation tanks. What does this mean for non-beer geeks? A barrel of beer equals 31 gallons. Our old brewing system was 3bbls, so that means we are able to double volume at one time! Along with the new technology our brewing will be more efficient, boost our quality and consistency. This upgrade also means we can now offer new exciting recipes we had not been able to bring to your glasses in the past. We have also renovated our tap room to allow patrons more room and to watch our brewing process in action”

The brewery has more entertainment lined up for this year’s winter season including the popular Trivia Nights that happen every Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm with a different theme each week.

As one of the only US breweries owned and operated by a ski area, the unique brewery is nestled in the village of Beech Mountain Resort. A bi-level facility with a large fireplace and hardwood flooring throughout, Beech Mountain Brewing Co. is accessible for all visitors and you do not have to participate in resort activities to visit, they are open to the general public.
