Aug. 23, 2013 On Aug. 24, Ensemble Stage presents “Bedside Manners,” a British farce rife with scandal and over-the-top humor, at the Blowing Rock School Auditorium.
The play runs from Aug 24 through Sep 1. Adult tickets are $19 and Senior and Military tickets are $17. The show will run on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
The play begins with the owner of a bed and breakfast in a secluded rural town taking a much needed vacation and leaving her brother in charge.
While the owner is away, two Mr. Smiths check into the hotel to meet their wives, but, as it turns out, the wife of the first Mr. Smith is the woman the second Mr. Smith has come to meet and vice-versa. Hilarity ensues as the brother becomes embroiled in the calamity, attempting to prevent the inevitability of the husbands, wives and lovers all meeting in awkward and compromising situations.
This comedy promises to be fun and entertaining. If you love the absurd and the hysterical, do not miss this wild and raucous British farce.
