Aug. 22, 2014. On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Blue Ridge Mountain Club will present Beach Blast on the Blue Ridge, featuring beach music by The Catalinas and the Band of Oz, with opening act Owen Campbell. Tickets are $28 in advance and $35 at the door.
“The Catalinas and the Band of Oz are two of the most successful beach bands in the Southeast. They both have great horn sections that really bring the party to the evening. And they connect with the audience. Owen Campbell is that universal blues. Think Van Morrison, The Band, The Rolling Stones. It’s hard to call it ‘the blues’ when you feel so good listening to it,” said Billie Rogers, Blowing Rock Chamber Events Director.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. After Owen Campbell, The Catalinas will perform at 6:30 p.m. and the Band of Oz at 8 p.m. Attendees may bring their own food and beverages or purchase items offered at the event. Blankets and chairs are welcome.
