Dec. 23, 2014. On Saturday, Dec. 27, The Sushi Club at Barra and Damaged Goodz Comedy present a night of comedy featuring Comedy Central’s Bret Ernst. The first comedy show will begin at 8:30 p.m. and seating is limited. The second show starts at 11 p.m.
The show will feature Ernst, a Comedy Central favorite and one of the stars from Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Tour. The night will also feature Matt White, winner of North Carolina’s Funniest Comic who works at The Dead Crow in Wilmington, and Ryan Steiner of Side Splitter’s Comedy Club in Florida.
Hosted by Brian Deans, the event will take place one night only and will make for an “incredible night of fun and frivolity” that is also a great way for comics to network and get to know each other.
“I started doing shows at The Sushi Club three summers ago and I realized quickly that with the high-end clientele that we have, the level of entertainment I had to get had to be good,” said Dan Damage of Damaged Goodz Comedy.
“When we do shows there, we get Comedy Central-level comedians. I get them as they are passing through the area, and it is really a destination for comedians – they love this area.”
The cost to attend the comedy show is just $25. The seating for this event is limited and it is expected to sell out.
“These are great, established comedians,” Damage said. “We have room for 70 people and we fully expect this show to sell out. We have just added a second show starting at 11 p.m. that night. It will be a late night show, a little bit more wild and it brings a very different crowd.”
