Nov. 26, 2014. Kick off the Christmas season with Banner Elk. On Saturday, Dec. 6, the town will host Christmas events including Breakfast with Santa, two showings of the movie “Arthur Christmas,” cookie decorating, ornament making, Christmas market and more.
The Parade of Lights has a new route that will make the parade slightly longer and travel past more businesses in Banner Elk. Most of the businesses will be staying open late, and many will offer Christmas treats! The parade ends with the arrival of Santa in Tate-Evans Park, and the park will be filled with activities.
Santa’s workshop will be set up in the park, along with live elves making toys! There will be a letter to Santa station, train rides through the luminary lighted park, an outdoor movie, a campfire with s’mores and a live nativity scene.
All of the details can be found at www.BannerElk.org/Christmas or by calling the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce at 828-898-8395.
This event is sponsored by the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Banner Elk, the Banner Elk Tourism Development Authority, Lees-McRae College and Lowe’s Hardware.
