A wanted Banner Elk man was arrested on Sept. 19 on out-of-state armed kidnapping charges that are more than three years old, according to the Johnson City Press.

George Milton Litchfield, 52, was transported to Carter County Jail after being arrested at the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office in Boone.

“Litchfield was indicted by a Carter County grand jury back on May 14, 2012, on charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. The charges stem from an incident on Sept. 3, 2011, in which Litchfield allegedly confined a woman and held her so ‘as to interfere substantially with her liberty,’” according to the Tennessee newspaper.

His bond was set at $100,000.
