April 14, 2014. On Saturday, April 12, Banner Elk held its Easter Celebration for kids of all ages sponsored by the Banner Elk Tourism Development Authority and the Town of Banner Elk.

The celebration started out at the Banner Elk Cafe, where kids got the chance to meet the Easter Bunny, have a delicious breakfast to fill them up for the Easter Egg Hunt and even get their faces painted by the Cafe’s owner, Cindy Broussard.

“We had a really great time,” Broussard said. “We had the perfect amount of kids, and perfect weather for this event. We are looking forward to making this an annual event.”

Breakfast from the Easter Bunny led to the main event: a huge Easter Egg Hunt at Tate Evans Park starting at 11:30 a.m. Fields were set up for different age groups so even the youngest of the youngsters could join in on the fun.

Magician Jacob McCormick gave a magical performance in the park and kids also enjoyed other activities including a bounce house.

Starting around 1:30 p.m., My Best Friend’s Barkery hosted a Pet Egg Hunt in Tate-Evans Park.
