The Banner Elk 2017 Concerts in the Park Returns to the High Country for the Season on June 22

The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce is excited to present a wonderful line up of bands for the 2017 Concerts in the Park.  Banner Elk’s concerts are every Thursday evening at 6:30pm in Tate Evans park from June 22- August 31.

Concert goers will enjoy 11 carefully selected bands.  Mary Jo Brubaker, concert committee chairperson, has worked hard to pick bands that are high energy, fun dance bands playing a variety of different genres.  You can expect to tap your feet and swing your hips when you attend a Banner Elk concert!

One of the most anticipated bands of the season, The Extraordaires, will be back on stage on July 6th. This 9 piece R&B band has become a must see for Banner Elk concerts.  The line up also includes local favorites: Soul Benefactor on June 29th and the Dave Calvert Collective on August 24th.

New bands this year include: a swing band called the Starlighters coming up from Lenior, NC and classic rock with Clockworx, a Beech Mountain Band with Max Riley as lead guitarist.

The first concert on June 22 will be Buick Mackane returning to the stage with a hard driving mix of Southern Rock, 80’s, rock, funk and country.  Buick Mackane is sponsored by Williams YMCA and High Country Wealth Management.

At all the concerts there are food vendors are on site or bring your own picnic.  Bring chairs or blankets and enjoy a lovely evening in the park!
