“We have been anticipating a grant from the many different sources we tried, and finally one came through. I sincerely applaud the Board of Commissioners for funding this and putting school safety as a priority, ” Sheriff Kevin Frye said.

Frye named Deputy Bob Johnson to the position and his base of operations will be Cranberry Middle School and Freedom Trail Elementary School with additional duties at Riverside Elementary.

Deputy Johnson has been in law enforcement for over 22 years and served as a part-time school resource officer for four years. Johnson also resides in the Tucker Hollow Community which is within the school districts he will be primarily serving.

Sheriff Frye believes this additional deputy will provide much needed additional safety and security for our children, teachers and public.
