Tom Love, D. Oct. 20, 2013
Thomas Anderson Love III, 66, of Newland passed away on October 20, 2013 at Johnson Center Medical Center.
A native of Avery County, he was born November 15, 1946 a son of the late McDuffy Dula and Eula Nelson Love.
He was a member of NRA and enjoyed singing, playing music, pin stripping and woodworking.
Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Madeline.
Thomas has left to cherish his memory his: daughter, Becky Love and James McCurry of Boone; son, Glenn Marker of Pineola; sister, Carolyn Greene of Morganton; brothers, Jim Love of Crossnore, Jack Nelson and wife Marie of Newland.
Graveside services for Thomas Anderson Love, III will be conducted on Thursday, October 24th at 2:00 p.m.in the Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. prior to the Graveside Services at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Edmund Price, D. Oct. 17, 2013
Dr. Edmund Wesley Price, Jr., 93, born August 23, 1920, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013.
A faithful servant, preacher, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, recently preached on his 93rd birthday and was Assistant Usher and Chief Prayer Warrior at the Banner Elk Christian Fellowship Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Beverette Middleton Price of their home in Banner Elk, NC and son Dr. Gordon Wesley Price and his wife Barbara of Washington DC; daughter, Susan Price Clawson and her husband Reverend Carl Clawson of Banner Elk, N.C. He is preceded in death by his other daughter Carol Price St. Clair. Grandchildren – Dr. Scott St. Clair and wife Cameron; Katie Garrett and husband Bart; Reverend Jonathan St. Clair and wife Catherine; Annie Clawson Marion and husband Jessup; Jill Clawson McPhail and husband Craig; Ginny Richardson and husband Rob; Spencer Price and Harrison Price, as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Buddy grew up in Raleigh. He received a degree in Civil Engineering from N.C. State University in 1941 and was a professor from 1942-45. He was ordained to Gospel Ministry at Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Raleigh in 1945. Upon receiving his doctorate in Theology from Southwestern Seminary in 1951 he pastored churches over the next 42 years, with 22 years dedicated to the congregation at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point, followed by eight years service at Grace Baptist Church, also in High Point.
He was a friend to all and deliverer of the gospel. Serving the Lord was his calling, and prayer was his passion.
He authored Acts in Prayer, which has sold over 1 million copies and the Character Connection.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 20 at 4 p.m. at Banner Elk Christian Fellowship Church.
