Frank Edward Reece, D. May 10, 2013
Frank Edward Reece,age 83, of Elizabethton passed away on May 10, 2013 at his residence.
A native of Avery County, he was born November 14, 1929 the son of the late Elzie and Cindie Stansberry Reece.
He was a carpenter and loved working with wood.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie McKinney Reece.
A very good person who will be missed, Frank has left to cherish his memory his: wife, Anna Reece of the home; daughter, Barbara June Greene of Elizabethton; sons, Ronnie Reece and wife Donna of Elizabethton, David Reece and wife Dorothy of Hampton, Terry Reece of Elizabethton, Terry Bailey of Newland; sister, Sue Webb of Roaring Creek; several grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Frank Edward Reece will be conducted on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Grandfather Chapel with Rev. Gary Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Neil Reece, Bradley Reece, Kenneth Whitaker, Austin Calloway, Terry Bailey, Ricky Thomas. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services.
Richard Paul Cannon, D. May 9, 2013
Richard Paul Cannon, age 79, of Statesville passed away on May 9, 2013 at the Gordon Hospice House.
A native of Avery County, he was born May 21, 1933 a son of the late William Joseph and Annie Norman Cannon.
He was a CPR in the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War.
Richard was the Owner/Operator of Cannon Motors, Inc. of Statesville for 35 years.
Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his: sister, Mildred Cook; brothers, James Cannon, Samuel Cannon, Clarence Cannon.
Richard has left to cherish his memory his: wife, Anna Cannon of the home; sons, Jack Allen Cox, Jr. and wife Sheila of Mt. Airy, NC., Anthony Cannon of Statesville, NC; sister, Dorothy Dugger of Elizabethton; brother, Bobby Cannon and wife Lucy of the Ceck Republic; granddaughters, Emily Cox Clement, David Allen Cox; great granddaughter, Ila Jo Clement.
Funeral services for Richard Paul Cannon will be conducted on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Elk Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Carver and Rev. Richard Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the Elk Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.
