Eddie Lee Clark (March 25, 1931 – June 30, 2014)

Eddie Lee Clark of Walt Clark Road went home to be with his Lord on June 28, 2014. Born March 25, 1931 he lived with his grandparents, Burgis (Bud) Clark and Nettie Jane Vance Clark.

He retired from Dance Freight Line and Consolidated Freightways after 42 years of service and loved being a truck driver, his routes and all the people he met.

After his retirement from driving a truck, he started Ginger Hollow Nursery raising Fraser Fir Christmas Trees and Boxwoods for the last 20 years.

He loved his family, friends and most of all his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his: mother, Carmie Clark; wife, Nancy Howell Clark; grandson, Jeremy Clark; brothers, Stevie, Lester, Omer, Nells, Joe and Everett; sisters, Ida, Ossie, Louise and Jennie.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Colleen Smith Clark; brothers, Acie and Paul Clark; children, Dennis James and wife Gail, Roger and wife Robin, Barry and special friend Bridgette, Bettina and husband Jr. Walls; granddaughters, Melissa and Aaron Swartley, Amanda and Derek Aldridge; Kristen and Rusty Randles and great grandchildren, Kalie, Kaleb, Karah and Kacey Swarthly, Michaela, Sarah, Rebekkah and Anna Beth Aldridge, Cadence, Ruslan and Constatine Randles, Aylassa, Lydia, Quintin, Kathrine Walls, Mackenzie, Hadleigh Fay and step daughter, Marcella and Burt Weathers; sister-in-law, Edna Howell Carver; special niece, Dorothy Smith and lots of nieces and nephews that were very dear to him; long time trucking buddies, Cecil Allman, Everett (Fuzz) Green and John Jones.

Services for Eddie Lee Clark will be Wednesday, July 2nd at 3:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. Lander Heafner officiating. Interment will follow inthe White Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Patricia Louise Stewart ,age 61, of Newland passed away on June 25, 2014 at Life Care Center of Banner Elk.

A native of Alleghany County, she was born September 30, 1952 a daughter of Bill Stewart of Elk Park and the late Lucy Winters Stewart.

She enjoyed country and western music and had studied Karate for over 20 years. She was a member of the Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Boone.

In addition to her father, she leaves behind her sisters, Kathy Stewart of Elk Park, Linda Solem of Atlanta, GA; brother, William Stewart of Birmingham, AL; nieces and nephews, Jared, Andrew, Stacey, Ginia, and Melissa; great nieces, Reagan, Amelia; very special friends, Lisa Johnson and Jean Benfield.

Funeral services for Patricia Louise Stewart will be conducted on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Reverend Preston Thomas and Father Dave Brzoska officiating. Family, friends, and pallbearers will gather at the Banner Cemetery on Sunday, June 29, at 1:45 pm for graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
