Autumn Starts off Warm on Friday Afternoon

Fall color is starting to fall upon Grandfather Mountain. About a week earlier than in 2016, visitors can catch vibrant glimpses of gold, orange and red all throughout the mountain, as this photo taken from the mountain’s Nature Museum toward Linville Peak illustrates. Fall starts tomorrow.

The Autumn Equinox will occur at 4:02 p.m. on Friday in the Northern Hemisphere. RaysWeather.com forecasts that the sunny, warm and dry weather we’ve had for the past week will continue.

“I’m running out of novel ways to describe warm, mostly dry weather,” according to RaysWeather.com on Thursday morning. “The forecast is about as simple as it can be – unseasonably warm for the next 8 days and dry except for isolated afternoon showers today.”
