ASU Chancellor Peacock To Chair American Council on Education Board of Directors’ Finance Committee

Aug. 1, 2013. Dr. Kenneth E. Peacock has been appointed chairman of the American Council on Education Board of Directors’ finance committee. 

peacockThe finance committee reviews and recommends ACE’s annual operating budget, oversees and approves maintenance of reserves and debt structure, and oversees management of the council’s financial assets, including investments, property and equipment.  

Peacock is chancellor of Appalachian State University. He also is a member of ACE’s Commission on Internationalization and Global Engagement. His three-year term on the board concludes March 2015.

As the nation’s largest higher education organization, the American Council on Education is at the forefront of major issues affecting postsecondary education. Its president is Molly Corbett Broad, who was president of the University of North Carolina from 1997-2005.Founded in 1918, it is the only higher education organization that represents presidents and chancellors of all types of U.S. accredited, degree-granting institutions: community colleges and four-year institutions, private and public universities, and nonprofit and for-profit colleges.

ACE provides leadership on key higher education issues and influences public policy through advocacy, research and program initiatives.
