This CrashPad will be offered Tuesday, July 26 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Appalachian Enterprise Center located at 130 Poplar Grove Connector, Boone, NC 28607. Space is limited for this free workshop, and registration is highly encouraged. For more information and to register please visit www.ascentbusinessnetwork.com, or call Ascent at 828-278-4440.

The July 26th CrashPad will focus on the Fundamentals of Social Enterprise and will be facilitated by Jeffrey Scott. The discussion will focus on visioning your business to further a social purpose in a financially sustainable way. Social Enterprises are started by social entrepreneurs, who rather than leaving societal needs for the government to solve, study a specific problem and bring about creative solutions that have the ability to scale and change whole systems. Social entrepreneurs bring passion, persistence, creativity and business chops to solve society’s critical issues and make a positive impact in the world. Whether you have an idea for a business or want to expand an existing business, all are welcome to attend.

The Facilitator ~ Jeffrey Scott:

Jeffrey is a social entrepreneur and professional training coach with over 20 years in executive leadership roles with socially driven companies working to solve critical issues. He has started and led both nonprofit and for profit companies in the renewable energy, conservation real estate, green building, commercial real estate, sustainable agriculture, economic development and health sectors. These include Frontline Conservation Real Estate, Appalachian Institute for Renewable Energy, Heifer International, New River Conservancy, Blue Ridge Conservancy, DwellBox, LightFish Energy, High Country Local First, Ascent Business Network, Silicon Hollar, Startup High Country, Stepping Stone and Metamorphic. He lives in Boone with his family and enjoys the outdoors and international travel.

This crash pad is a lead up to the in-depth 6-week course on Social Enterprises taught by Jeffrey Scott. The 6-week course begins on August 9 and will explore in-depth the theory and practice of Social Enterprises and how to make your business vision a sustainable reality.
